Phone codes only work in GTA 5 for PC, Xbox One and PS4. In older versions of the game, the usual codes are used, which must be entered using the joystick - the phone will not help there. The police in GTA 5 on PC can cause a lot of difficulties both during the passage of the story mode and the multiplayer version of the game. The speed of escape from the chase is directly proportional to the number of stars that indicate the wanted level.

Don't forget to look at the mini-map as it shows vehicles that are chasing you, as well as one about to give chase, so you can adjust your escape route to cover.
If you have one or two stars, it will not be difficult to escape from the chase, the main rule is if you are in a city, then avoid busy roads and give preference to narrow alleys, hide in the backyard of some mansion. In rural areas, preference can be given to the mountains, it will be very difficult for the police to get there, and without helicopters, it will be simply unrealistic to detect your location.
If there are already cop helicopters on the tail with weapons aimed at you, then you can head into the tunnel, which will hide you from the eyes of the aircraft, as a rule, this is the easiest way to drop the tail, except for the cheat code. Also, multi-level parking will be an excellent option, the main thing is that ground transport does not drive the player into a dead end.
An excellent variation on avoiding a chase would be to hijack a helicopter or plane if it is not in your hangar. After you manage to get it, you should gain altitude and rush away from the cops.
The most elementary, but far from the most honest, way is to enter a cheat.
